AWPR Public Local Inquiry
Inquiry Information

A Public Local Inquiry is held to hear and report on objections made as part of the statutory consultation. The role of the appointed Reporters is to provide recommendations to Scottish Ministers.

Ministers have directed that they wish to be advised on the technical and environmental aspects associated with the choice of route for the AWPR, including the Environmental Statement, and opinions expressed on those matters.

Having accepted the need in principle for the road, Scottish Ministers do not wish to be advised on the justification for the scheme in economic, policy or strategy terms and the PLI will not address these issues.
